Volunteers Serve Wildfire-Affected Community with Stress Management Sessions

MAUI, HAWAII — Professional psychologist and Love Peace Harmony Foundation volunteer Laurie Omuro-Yamamoto, along with her sister Chiemi who is an occupational therapist (pictured above) and mother Annette, as a team, offer wonderful service to their community through stress management session in the Love Peace Harmony Field™. These sessions serve case managers, healthcare providers, as well as those in the community who have been affected by the Maui wildfires last year, or the people serving those who have been affected.

Here is feedback from a participant in their sessions — “I am so grateful for the self care and Love Peace Harmony Field sessions. They have been extremely beneficial, especially during a busy week, it has helped me check in, to reconnect, and to be more conscious and aware of my emotional, mental and physical state. It has helped me identify some common stressors, and give me tools, techniques and resources that have helped me move through stressful situations more quickly and positively. I feel more calm, grounded, happy and nourished. I highly recommend everyone join in the Love Peace Harmony sessions to support any aspect of life.” — B.H.

Back in July, Laurie, Chiemi and Annette lead their second session dedicated specifically for an outreach group of those affected by Lahaina wildfires last year. The team received positive feedback from participants there. One reported they really connected with the presentation, and that their energy increased as well as their positive mood from 2-out-of-10 to 5-out-of-10, more than double what it had been before the session.

Another participant who had taken Tai Chi before was intrigued with the Love Peace Harmony Calligraphy Movement that the team lead as part of the session, and shared that they had good energy, and expressed interest in their further session.

Each one of us has the amazing potential to make a difference in the world for others, including by starting closest to us, right in the communities that we are part of or interact with in our lives.
