A Shared Commitment in Service to Humanity: LPHF Founder Honored with Meeting 2 Lord Mayors in London

LONDON, UK — Whilst in London, LPHF Founder, Dr. and Master Sha had the great privilege of meeting two Lord Mayors who are deeply committed to service, love, and uplifting their communities. These meetings served as a profound reminder of the power of collective action and the importance of working together to create a brighter, more harmonious world.

A Shared Commitment to Service with the Lord Mayor of Wandsworth

Dr. and Master Sha was privileged to meet Councillor Sana Jafri, the Lord Mayor of Wandsworth. Councillor Sana Jafri is an immigration lawyer, equality champion, human rights activist and community worker. She previously served as Deputy Mayor and takes over the role from the previous Mayor, Councillor Juliana Annan. Councillor Jafri is a mother of two who was born in Tooting and still lives there. She volunteers with local youth groups and charities, campaigns for equality and human rights and has raised funds for St George’s Hospital. In addition to her previous role as Deputy Mayor, Councillor Jafri served as Chair of both the Wandsworth Agreed Syllabus Conference and the Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education.

The Wandsworth Borough Council, under Councillor Jafri’s leadership, focuses on community welfare, social support programs, and initiatives to uplift local residents, embodying the spirit of selfless giving.

During their meeting, Councillor Jafri presented Dr. and Master Sha with the esteemed Mayoral pin—an emblem of the borough’s commitment to service, symbolized by the motto “We Serve.” The Wandsworth Mayoral pin carries special significance—it was pioneered by former Lord Mayor of Wandsworth, Coun Cooper, in 2012, the first mayor in London to create a pin to specifically acknowledge people who are pillars of the community.

Coun Cooper said: "For 300,000 people [in the borough of Wandsworth] there should be something to recognise the resident associations, school governors and good neighbours. When someone sees it, and gets talking, people can find out about the work they are doing. There are so many good people around. I think the more they get recognised and the more people know about these people, more will get more involved."

For Dr. and Master Sha, this pin and its motto are a message deeply aligned with his lifelong mission to help humanity heal and transform through Love, Peace & Harmony.

Honoring Humanity with the Lord Mayor of Southwark

Further strengthening his connection with London’s civic leaders, Dr. and Master Sha also met Councillor Naima Ali, the Lord Mayor of Southwark. Deeply committed to diversity, social justice, and community development, Councillor Ali plays a vital role in supporting Southwark residents through various programs focused on housing, education, and mental health. Councillor Ali, has lived in the UK since the late 1990s. She brings nearly three decades of lived and professional experience to the role. Naima’s journey into politics was driven by a deep love for humanity and a commitment to supporting the most vulnerable and voiceless in the community.

Elected as a councillor in 2022, Naima has been a passionate advocate for social justice. She is dedicated to fighting Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), which has led to her appointment as an FGM Ambassador for Southwark. As Deputy Mayor, Naima built strong community connections by sharing personal and professional experiences and promoting integration. As Mayor, she aims to make Southwark the most fair and welcoming place to live, work, and visit. In her spare time, Naima loves to spend time with her family and socialising with friends.

In her acceptance speech the Mayor stated, “I have experienced hardship and adversity since I stepped foot in the UK, and in my 17 years of working with people with drug addiction, I have found my greatest teachers. I aim to bridge the gap and work on connecting our communities. I am guided in the belief that humanity comes before anything else and together we can make a difference. Together we will forge a brighter, more inclusive and equitable future for all our residents in Southwark.”

During their meeting, Councillor Ali honored Dr. and Master Sha with a Southwark coat of arms pin and a beautifully crafted tie, symbolizing their shared dedication to serving others with heart and soul. The Southwark coat of arms includes the borough’s motto ‘United to Serve’ underscoring the borough’s values and community's commitment to unity and service. Receiving this pin is an honor that signifies recognition of an individual's or organization's alignment with these values and contributions to the community.

The conversation shared between Councillor Ali and Dr. and Master Sha during their meeting highlighted the importance of the messages and values of Love Peace and Harmony and how together, we can create a brighter future for all of humanity.
